- 10 Ways To Get Involved
SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2011
Call for Volunteers LEED 2011 Chapter Regionalization Work Group
We invite you to participate in an activity that will affect the LEED green building certification system in a tangible manner.
As you may know, certain credits in the LEED rating systems are prioritized for particular areas, reflecting their importance in addressing the priority environmental issues of each area. These credits are called Regional Priority credits (RPCs) and debuted in the current commercial rating systems, collectively called LEED 2009.
All LEED rating systems are now on the same development cycle and will be collectively called LEED 2012. Because LEED 2012 is a major upgrade from LEED 2009, with new credit categories, revised technical content, and revised point distribution, LEED 2012 will feature RPCs that will vary in type and application from those RPCs developed for LEED 2009.
The aim of the chapter regionalization work group is to review, further define, and redevelop our environmental zones; and assign RPCs to the environmental zones identified within our chapter boundary in Puerto Rico and the USVI. This undertaking requires a diversity of skill sets and perspectives found in our chapter community, and beyond. We are looking for 15-20 dedicated, committed people to make it happen.
If you are interested in participating in any portion of this important work group, please contact Tamary Alvarez, email@example.com chapter point-of-contact, and complete the volunteer form for LEED Regionalization at usgbc.org/volunteer.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to influence the future of LEED in our Region.
