Rick Fedrizzi on pending NYT article
Folks,
Taryn Holowka, our marketing & communications director, and her team have been following the progress of a New York Times article that is in development using the NBI study to raise questions about LEED and building performance. The crux of the article will likely be that LEED buildings perform no better than conventional buildings relative to energy performance. The subtlety that a building’s performance is determined as much by the use patterns and the humans that operate it as it is by the building’s design, may not come across in print.
Please take the time to read and understand the issues related to the NBI research and upcoming papers. Please be able to articulate the changes that have been made to LEED and the messaging points that are provided in the attached. Also, please share with us any specific information or ideas that you feel can help us further as we manage this story.
Thanks very much,
Rick
